Service Booking at St John’s
We are planning to open our church buildings for public worship from 2nd December. We are looking forward to welcoming you to church and hope it will be a meaningful and worshipful time, for young and old and for regulars and visitors alike.
There will be two identical Sunday services at St John’s, at 9am and then at 10.30am, each about 45 minutes long. For our Sunday services at St John’s, it will be necessary to book. This will help us as we manage the capacity of the services, avoid crowding and also for ‘Track and Trace’ purposes. Please click the links to book either of the two morning services on those dates. You will only need to make one booking per household.
*We have had to take the hard to decision to cancel our Christmas services in our buildings. The reasons are all to do with the spread of Covid. Even with Christmas in buildings cancelled for us this year, Christmas is still very much on! Why not join us online at any or all of services on our YouTube channel. Check the calendar for more details.
A: No, you will not need to book for St Mary’s, nor for the Wednesday communion service at St John’s as we don’t expect a huge stretch on capacity for these services.
Q: What if I prefer not to use an online booking system?
A: For those who prefer not to use an online booking system, please email or text Dave (07958067683) or Oli who can book for you, and then will confirm whether or not a place has been reserved. Please note that we will do our best to book you on, but cannot guarantee you a place!
Q: Can I block book a place at church, or book a date far in the future?
A: We are opening bookings for up to 2 Sundays in advance. In other words, you will need to book each time you would like to attend in the week or two before that given Sunday. The live links will be available in the newsletter which comes out each Saturday. This is to avoid forgotten bookings, late cancellations or over-booking in order to allow everyone the chance to attend who would like to attend.
Q: What measures are in place at St John’s to protect against the spread of the virus?
A: This short video helps you see some of the changes we’ve made at St John’s and what it will be like for you and your household as you come to services.
Q: How do I sign up for the newsletter in order to receive the regular sign up links for church?
A: If you don’t yet receive our newsletter but would like to, you can sign up here.
Q: Do I need to book for my children?
A: Your booking is for your household and reserves you an entire pew! So if you and your children/household can together fit on a pew, you won’t need to book more than once.
If you missed this last weekend’s newsletter, the article in the newsletter contained more detail on some of the changes at church and you can read that here.
Please do be in touch with any more queries via the contact page – we look forward to seeing you at church online or in person in the near future!
