Many Special Memories of St John’s

Leon, Martine, Felix and Maxim Clark have been long-standing members of St John’s and have recently moved out of the area to Surrey. Many people will miss their friendship, kindness and enthusiasm for getting involved – at church, at the Blue School and in the wider community around St John’s Road. Below is Martine’s message to the church as they say goodbye…

We certainly didn’t envisage moving during a heatwave, in a global pandemic, with Leon having just started a new job – but sometimes God moves in mysterious ways! It was a hard decision to leave Isleworth after 17 happy years, not least because of the fantastic community and friends we had around us, many of whom we met through the church.

We have many special memories, including the Christenings of both our sons, summer fetes, nativities (the donkey!), gentlemen’s nights out, men’s football and the Gospel choir at Christmas. We feel very fortunate to have been part of such a caring community for so long, and sorry that circumstances meant we couldn’t say goodbye properly. Although we have now moved, we haven’t gone far (Surrey!) so will be sure to pop back for a visit when things are back to some sort of ‘normal’.

We wish all the very best to Dave, Rachel and their family, and to everyone at St John’s & St Mary’s parish, especially in these strange and uncertain times.

God Bless… Martine, Leon and the boys xx
