A message from Rev Dave Maclure, our vicar:
I am very pleased to announce that there is to be provision of an extra member of the clergy for our parish from the end of March. Please do welcome Rev Oli Douglas-Pennant and his family as they enter into church life in the run up to Easter. This will hopefully be a great help for myself and all of us at both congregations. Rachel and I know Oli and Hannah and their family already and are really excited we can work with these good friends. The Kensington Area Bishop, the Rt Rev Graham Tomlin, has written a statement outlining the arrangement:
It is always good to hear reports of the life of the church at St John’s and St Mary’s and I am glad to hear of progress as Dave’s ministry as Vicar takes root and grows among you. I have been keen for some time to find ways to support his and your ministry and mission as a church and to that end, I have arranged for the Rev Oli Douglas-Pennant to join the clergy team at St John’s and St Mary’s for an interim period, starting towards the end of March of this year.
Oli has been serving as a Team Vicar in the parish of St Paul’s and St Faith’s Brentford, and is looking in the longer term for other ministry opportunities, but I believe that some time working amongst you and with Dave will provide Oli and me the opportunity to identify how and where his many gifts and experience will best be focused in the service of Christ and his Church in the longer term. Oli and Hannah, Joshua, Althea and Anouk will continue to live at St Faith’s Vicarage for this interim period. I do hope very much this will be a blessing to Dave, to Oli and his family and to the church in Isleworth as well.
